About Us - The Difference
The name reflects a historical and currently unfolding African (rather than exclusively Greek) contribution to humanity.
KMT Asen espouses no affiliation with any specific religious tradition although all members must believe in a higher power.
Hazing is forbidden both as a matter of policy and practice.
Members of KMT seek first to distinguish themselves through individual and collective service.
KMT maintains no distinction between institutions. Rather all men of KMT within the same city are members of one collective unit rather than separate "chapters."
For this reason and others, KMT does not seek campus charters. Instead, KMT regards itself as a community organization rather than a campus organization.
The purpose of the KMT crossing is to produce a deeper connection to all aspects of the community rather than to distinguish initiates from the community.
As an expression of manhood, KMT seeks to build partnerships with women so that our developing sense of manhood does not come at their expense.
At the highest level of brotherhood, members of KMT demonstrate a primary commitment not to KMT but to positive change in the communities in which Brothers live and, by extension, humanity itself.
